Hi everybody. My name is King Koligula, but everybody calls me Kelly for short. I’m a really big teddy... and I do mean REALLY big! I’m over twelve feet tall when I stand up, and twelve feet around my middle too. My mum says I need to stop eating.

My mum, Elaine, made me herself when she was only 19. She’s really old now though. Last week she was 55, which means that I am 35 – but that isn’t old for a teddy bear, is it? She made me to raise money for lots of charities. People paid to have photo’s taken of themselves or children sitting on my knee, which got very boring after a while, especially as some of them were really heavy! I’m retired now.

My special hobby is writing. I write stories and poems. Most of them are about teddy bears of course. When Mum made me I was the largest teddy bear in the world, but 4 years later she made a bigger one called Mr H.B. Most of us just call him “Sir” because he is really VERY big!

Here in the UK we - or my part of it at least - we have SNOW!

Isn't it fun? My humans don't think so of course... such spoil sports!

Hello All! I feel as if I've been away from here for YEARS! My mum has been so busy that she has hardly been near the computer - on holiday most of the time - and us bears have just had to put up with the inconvenience! Hi, I'm still busy writing... I am doing a a bit about tedyy bear names, and how they got them. I wonder if any of you lot would like to tell everyoner how you got your name? I'd like to put some of the best answers in my book, but will ask you for permission first!

My full name was King Koligula, and I got that because I am a giant teddy bear, and he was a giant king. I don't like the name much though, and so I stick to Kelly fo short.

I just love writing poetry, and I thought you might like to read one of my poems. This is one I wrote from the perspective of a little girl who is talking to the teddy who owns her, and I think it explains a bit about why children love us teddies. Here it is, hope you like it.

Teddy, sweet Teddy Bear, listen I pray
Hear what I say at the end of this day.
Mary was nasty, she teased me at school
Said my new hair cut made me look a fool.

I fell down in netball, scraped both my knees
And then I was chased by some horrible bees.
I can’t do my homework; it’s always so hard,
Now Susan will say that I’m just a retard.

Teddy, my Teddy, I’ve secrets to share.
I know you’ll tell no-one, my dear furry bear.
There’s a new boy in school, called Angus McGee;
I think he’s so cute – and I know he likes me!

He carried my books all the way to our gate,
Said that my hair cut just made me look great!
He asked me to go to the end of term dance,
And didn’t give Janice or Helen a glance.

Teddy, dear Teddy, you soaked up my tears
And even in darkness you’ve taken my fears.
Cuddle up close in the moon’s eerie light,
And stay with me right ‘til the end of this night.

Oh, Wow! That looks fun! I'm afraid I don't ride. Only because we don't have any 12 foot horses mind. My pals do. They drive ponies in harness too - you know, with carts. It looks like fun, but the cart tipped up when I tried it, and the pony ended up in the air, as he was fixed to the front end. I shall have to persuade some of my pals to join.

And yes, of course you can be my bear buddy, that would be great!

Heres a picture of one of our ponies. He's more like a teddy bear than a horse, so I think he fits ok on this blogs. That's my youngest toy with him.
