Very sad lost teddy bear

Hi there

I wonder if anyone can help me?

We went on holiday a couple of weeks ago and disaster struck! My son left his teddy bear behind in the pine lodge we were staying in. The pine lodge owners say that they cannot find the bear (although I don't know how you can possibly miss a 12" bear, especially since I told them precisely where in the lodge he was left!)

Patrick has had this bear since he was two days old. He is absolutely distraught, and it feels like someone in our family has died. I have telephoned and e-mailed the pine lodge company but have pretty much given up on Big Ted turning up.

I am therefore trying to find a replacement Big Ted. Although no one could ever properly replace him, I am hoping that this would be some consolation to my son. I have contacted the manufacturers and they say that the chances of me finding a new Big Ted are virtually zero. Can anyone tell me where I might find discontinued lines of teddy bears?

Big Ted was 12" tall and orangey brown in colour. He had a plum bow, although this has long since stopped being a bow and is now just a straggly bit of velvet around his neck!

Hope you find a replacement soon, may I suggest you put your photo in a blog on the bear club and tell everyone your story...Then more people will see him and I am sure they would be pleased to help!...good luck

Fantastic news. I have just taken a phone call from the pine lodge holiday company to say that Bit Ted has been found. Patrick is absolutely thrilled.

I will post a photograph on Big Ted's blog when he arrives home.

Thank you so much to all you kind people who made suggestions for finding a replacement Big Ted and thank you too for your kind thoughts. It was really good to know that you were thinking about us.

Now that I have found this forum I will definitely continue to contribute to it and Big Ted will be able to keep his blog up to date.

Hello Jane,

I've experienced the loss of my little girl's teddy bear and I'm just dumbfounded on how it can't be found. How did you manage to find it? If you read my story then you'll know what I mean, please I need some new ideas!
